Chicago Run(s) This

To know me is to know the love affair I have with running.  I recently had foot surgery that brought my run game to a screeching halt.  To fill the void this surgery left in my heart, I paired up with Universal Sole to shoot a 4 mile fun run.  One of the organizations associated with this fun run was a group called "Chicago Run".  Chicago Run is a non-profit that collaborates with a number of Chicago Public Schools to get middle school students involved in running.  They pair the students up with volunteer running mentors who work with the kids all year long.  As mentors, they motivate the kids to do their best in their running, their schoolwork, and their overall lives.  Mentors train with the students over the course of the school year with the program concluding in a four mile run!

I love everything about this program.

The kids were so proud of themselves, and as they should be.  Four miles is no joke!

And hats off to Universal Sole for providing such an awesome event.  There was music, prizes, and food-an all around festival to celebrate these kids.  And celebrate they did...
